Who We Are
Formed in 2009, Pikes Peak Youth Ringers is a community youth handbell organization and is a division of Pikes Peak Ringers, a not-for-profit organization. Similar to its parent, PPYR was established to encourage young people to explore greater possibilities for their musical talent and to give them an outlet to achieve artistic excellence through handbell ringing. PPYR has two performing groups, Ascent Ringers and Pinnacle Ringers, which consist of ringers in 5th to 12th grade.
Susan Hedgpeth, Director of the Pikes Peak Youth Ringers, graduated with a Bachelor in Church Music/ Piano from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. She recently was selected to be part of the Handbell Musicians of America Area 11 Festival staff leading the newly formed youth track during the four-day event in Salt Lake City. Area 11 includes Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.
